    Lance Bertrand Grant

    2020 Recipients
    Primary Investigator:

    A total grant of $50,000 was given to Dr. Cascone & her team for research that addresses the recurrence of cancer after surgery alone. The benefits to patients of this research is the development of therapeutic strategies that will overcome immune suppression and reverse resistance to treatments.

    A total grant of $50,000 will be funding research focused on KRAS mutant non-small cell lung cancer. The research this scientist has done previously (which included funding by Rexanna's Foundation) has been groundbreaking and he was awarded the Career Development Award from the U.S. Department of Defense in 2017 and the 2019 NextGen Stars Award from the American Assoc. of Cancer Research.

    The total grant of $50,000 will be focused on developing new strategies for enhancing anti-tumor immunity in EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer. The identification of new and effective therapies for EGFR-mutant, TKI resistant tumors is currently a critical unmet need.
