May 24, 2008 Lisa Spain, Executive Director of Rexanna's Foundation threw out the First Pitch at the Houston Astros Game. Over 100 people representing the foundation turned out to support the Foundation and the Astros! Fun was had by all!
November 9, 2007 was "Huddle Up for the Cure" Day at Tatum High School! Over $3600.00 raised!

Friday Night, Nov. 9th, the Tatum Varsity Football Team launched a fight against Lung Cancer and smoking. Tatum HS was the proud participant of the 1st “Huddle Up for the Cure” Football Fundraiser. Students took pledges from sponsors who would like to support the cause – money was generated based on the number of huddles the Tatum HS Football team had during the game. Pledges per huddle were made as well as flat donations.

The first "Huddle Up for the Cure" held by Tatum H.S. and coordinated by Tom Sheppard was a TREMENDOUS success! They have definitely set the bar for all future "Huddle Up" events. Tatum High School raised over $3600.00 for Rexanna's Foundation! Proceeds of the event benefit The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and Rexanna’s Foundation College Scholarship Fund. November 3, 2007 – First Official fundraiser for Rexanna's Foundation was held at the Salt Lick – Austin, TX – Our theme was “Lone Star Huddle Up.” Entertainment was provided by Burnett Jones Band and the Lake Travis Fiddlers. More than 260 people joined the Foundation in their first fundraiser. A great night of dancing, live music, live and silent auction and visiting with folks was had by all! Special guests included all of Board of Directors of Rexanna's Foundation, Patsy Hawkins - Rexanna's Mother, Dr. Dan Karp - Medical Advisor to the board representing M.D. Anderson, and more than 6 other physicians from the Thoracic/Head and Neck Oncology Dept. at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. The event was a tremendous success! Over $40,000.00 was raised to help benefit Lung Cancer Research at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.
