LUNG CANCER is by far the leading cause of cancer death in the United States among men and women, yet most people are unaware of the staggering statistics.

450 people die each day of lung cancer –That’s 19 an hour.

Every two minutes another person is diagnosed with lung cancer and every three minutes someone will die from lung cancer.

Lung Cancer is the Number One Cancer Killer. It kills more people than breast, prostate, colon, liver, melanoma and kidney cancers combined.

You CAN get lung cancer if you never smoked.

The overall survival rate for lung cancer is still 15.5%. Breast cancer has advanced to an 89% survival rate. Prostate cancer to 99%.

Approximately 84% of lung cancers are currently diagnosed in the advanced stages of the disease.

For every nine dollars spent on breast cancer, one dollar is spent on lung cancer in the U.S.

60% of new lung cancer cases are diagnosed in FORMER smokers and those who have NEVER smoked.

Smoking is NOT the ONLY cause of lung cancer. Secondhand smoke, Radon gas, air pollution, exposure to asbestos, uranium, arsenic, diesel fuel and other carcinogens also contribute.

Secondhand smoke causes about 3,000 lung cancer deaths per year among adult nonsmokers in the United States.
